Default New to NL, how\'s my line with aces?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) converter

SB ($17.65)
BB ($44.75)
UTG ($33.55)
UTG+1 ($82.15)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.75</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises to $1.5</font>, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, Hero calls $0.75.

Flop: ($3.35) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, MP2 checks.

Final Pot: $21.35

I feel like I made the maximum, but is there any way I could have made more?

Reraise preflop. Push flop. Nobody i've ever seen in this game reraises then folds.

Looking back, I like your line. A big factor I didn't mention was that the villain in this hand was most likely steaming, as he just lost a big pot with a full house against quads.

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.75</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises to $1.5</font>, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, Hero calls $0.75.

RERAISE TO ABOUT $4. TRY TO GET INTO A P*SSING MATCH PF. IDEALLY YOU WANT TO GET ALL OF IT IN PF. OBVIOUSLY.

Flop: ($3.35) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, MP2 checks.

THERE IS A PAIR ON THE BOARD AND TWO CLUBS. BET THIS. Bet about $2.

Turn: ($3.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2</font>, MP2 calls $2.

NOW THERE ARE TWO PAIRS OUT THERE. BET THIS AGAIN $2-$3.

River: ($7.35) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $7</font>, MP2 calls $7.

IF HE"S CALLED U DOWN THIS FAR, A CHECK/CALL ISNT HORRIBLE HERE. BETTING THIS RIVER WHEN HE MAY HAVE A BOAT IS NOT GREAT.

Final Pot: $21.35

Basically, you played this about as bad as possible. Any other way would have been better. You may have won this pot but often times you will be spewing money playing like this.

Raise more PF to begin with. Make it $1.5 to go.

Also re-raise PF. Try to get all-in before the flop.

Is $1.50 the standard opening raise at this level? Raise whatever standard is or whatever you can PFR and still get action. .75 seems too light to me, but I haven't played at this level before. And then repop him preflop.

It is for me, generally. Of course, you have to adapt for the table, but at .1/.25 FR, I'll make it 6x +1/limper by defaut. At a SH table, I'll experiment with smaller raises (say 4x) and see what works for the table.
