Played chess tonight for the first time in years

Used to be big into chess, was rated at about 1500 ish, which is decent for a net Patzer.

God almighty, you wanna talk about stress... geez. I'll take poker anyday. Every move I made I was sure I was destroying the game and in chess there is no miracle card to bail you out, you screw up = you dead.

I'm good at tic tac toe. I never lose. I think I may turn pro. No limit, limit, doesn't matter, I can do it all.

Oh yes you can't compare the two. Chess is by far a superior game. In poker you can make some money but it's a boring game, compared to chess. Maybe I need to start playing chess again!

Anyone heard about Go? It's an oriental game with very simple rules but huge and complex strategy&tactics (brings conways life to mind). Very enjoyable game

1500? Good lord. I worked through all the chessmaster tutorials and all that this summer and I'm still only rated about 1,000. I'm just really, really bad at that game. I'd love to get better at chess and backgammon.
