Default Wierd MySpace scam???

I know a few people on here use MySpace, so I was wondering if anyone else got these. I got 2 PMs on MySpace from <a href=" her .

When I got the first one I figured it was some chick who was mass-mailing all guys trying to get some to respond, but then I got the second similar message.

Hey there, just browsing around trying to meet some people from around here. I just moved to New York a few weeks back and I hardly know anyone. I figured I'd give myspace a shot and see if I have any luck. I'll keep this short until I know you're interested. Just looking for someone to hang out and have a good time with....not looking for anything serious. I RARELY get a chance to check this account on myspace so if you want to chat hit me up at xxxxxxx@hotmail.com and I'll send you some more pics. Talk to ya soon hopefully.

Hi Tony how are things? I was trying to find some people on myspace that are from the area. I have been here in Fair Lawn about 3 weeks now. I just moved here and I have to say it was pretty rough. I don't know if you ever had to make a dificult move to some place and not know anyone, but it isn't easy.
But anyways to keep it short, or at least untill I know if your interested in chating or maybe getting together??? It would be nice to hear back from you soon, I hope you don't leave me hanging to long Try me at my email because I check back here less frequently. xxxxxxx@hotmail.com I hope this is just the begining...

So obviously this is some sort of scam, but what could they possibly be scamming for? Is it a identity theft thing? phishing? green card marriages?

It's been bugging me that I can't figure out what these pepole are up to.

Any thoughts?

Edit: The links are all [censored] up, so here are the URLs to the girls' pages

I got this too. I emailed the girl just out of curiosity (I knew it was a scam of some sort). I said "Hey, this is totally a scam, but say what you have to say."

This was the response I got:
-----------------------
Hey Mason I'm so happy you got back to me, it was nice to hear from you. I
hope your weekend is going well, any plans for the tonight?? I haven't done
anything too exciting here in the DC area yet, still looking for something
fun to do and someone fun to spend some time with. I have gotten out for
lunch a few times, but I haven't hit any night spots yet, I don't even know
where to start. It is nice to be off for the weekend, I'm still unpacking
and getting used to being here. Anyways a bit about me, I'm fresh from
Chicago and I moved here for my job, which is in sales, and I still have yet
to meet very many people other then some that I work with, but I'm not big
into mixing business with pleasure so I don't really count those people
amongst new friends. I hope your still interested and I hope we can get
something started soon, I can't stand just sitting here alone much longer!!

I posted A LOT more pics (if your still curious) on my newest personal,
they're at http://www.intimateflirts.com/cindy00 My profile is listed in
that site under "SeeMeCindy". I wanted to post my personal info (i.e. phone
# and my personal email address) there for 3 real simple reasons. 1) It's
DISCREET! 2) I never have to worry about being contacted by children since
only adults are allowed in the site and 3) I know all the replies I receive
are genuine. I've met a couple people off of this site, and it's truly made
me feel safe. I have had some bad experiences in the past that I don't want
to happen again. Thats all I've got to say right now, let's get together as
soon as possible because I've just been locked away so long I'm starting to
just want to go crazy, but in a good way...

Call me soon??

Cindy

Pretty sure they just want you to go to their pay porn site.

Nice. I actually thought it would be something more sinister than a porno site. Oh Well.

After seeing your fixed links (looking7forfun) it makes it even funnier. My girl's email was lookingforfun109@hotmail.com.

They're trying to elicit your interest to get money from you in some way.

At best, it's just trying to direct you to look at some site where they get sponsorship, and traffic brings revenue.

At worst, it'll be a con to elicit money from you in some way.

Just ignore crap of any form from 'women' you don't know - they're all scams.

Very not true. I have had sex with many women who sent me random messages on MySpace. You just need to be careful about it is all.

My mistake - if mason is correct and there are these sort of benefits, my advice is based on email crap that gets through the spam trap, and therefore complete garbage.

Yes, there are many MySpace skanks looking to get laid, however it was obvious this was something else.
