Could be lower pp that tried to use the ace card as a scare card hoping hero folds a higher pp? Shoot, I dunno, fold seems really reasonable.

I do find these terrible players, who seem so passive and all, do some of the weirdest [censored] sometimes though. It's like okay ill call down with my nut hand but ill donk you at the most random time ever.

I don't think this is very tough. There is basically no reason villian would suddenly bet JJ or KK now, when he wouldn't on the flop. Also, given his pfr, there are no A hands he is 3-betting here worse than hero's. At best, I think you're calling down hoping for a split with AT or AJ.
