reads are really no existent. ive only been at the table for like 20 hands and this is the first hand ive played here.

effective stack ~60

pre flop- folded to hero, hero raises to 4, button calls, all else fold

hero bets 7, villain calls

turn (23.5)-9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
hero checks, villain bets 12, hero pushes...

i think i like my line, but im not quite sure if i should be making this play very often...

Really depends on button.

Edit: Give that button has a short stack I probably wouldn't make the C/R. Check/call is fine.

I dont remember...but the Aggro 6max limit player in me likes the play...

I like it, you get hands like qj q10 and smaller pockets to fold enough times that this is shows a profit. people call continuation bets on the flop with weird [censored] on the 6-max party 100nls, but most are tight enough that they fold to further aggression and will probably muck anything less than kq here.

I think there is a lot of fold equity there against a full stack, but I cant see button folding with a stack of 37 left behind. He is calling with most marginal holdings, and you are behind a lot of those holding I think.

yes that was me, but i have 15 outs and i think enough fold equity to make this play work. maybe not...

i guess i was just wondering if this play is good at the 100's...

Don't underestimate the FE against a medium stack. Especially if he bought in for say $50-60. IMO, they do not like to put there chips in the middle without the nuts or near nuts when calling a bet. They do not wanna get stacked, as it often means they are done for the day. That's just my experience and opinion. If this guy bought in full, disregard. As it was, I like the play...especially if you are able to take advantage of it later with made hands.

See, whenever I see the short buy in guys I see them looking to get in with favorable odds on a good hand. I cannot see a medium stack folding here honestly if he has any reasonable piece of that bad boy. He cc on the flop and led semi blank turn. Q9 here sticks out to me for some reason, or any queen. I dont think you will get your villian to fold enough for this to be +EV.

Well, I come from a place where $50-60 in the NL100 is almost normal. And these are what I consider medium stacks. The <=$30 are what I consider short. He's still got $37 left behind when Hero pushes. He's not calling that with a bare queen much of the time. These guys think they are up against AA every time someone raises preflop. And Hero's play is consistent with AA/KK or a set. He can still get in a lot of play with his $37, and so I think Hero has some FE against TP. Not a ton, but some.
