Default HU turn semibluff

Button is unknown, second hand or so. I think this works in my favor, he won't assume I am crazy from the get go. Big blind is button.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 2 handed)

Button ($378.12)
Hero ($394.20)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Button posts a blind of $4.
Hero raises to $13, Button (poster) calls $11.

Flop: ($30) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $24, Button raises to $48, Hero calls $24.

Turn: ($126) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $75, Hero calls $331.20 (All-In)

You trying to see how much he likes his set? Maybe the $400 game is a lot different from the $200, but you either are gonna get an autofold (good) or your worst nightmare (set of 8's or 9's). No way I'm laying down a set without a solid read.

Of course, if villain is a 2+2er, he will immediately curl into the fetal position, cry out for his mother (from the basement) and fold to the dreaded turn check-raise (at least that's what I did last night ), so maybe you are on to something here.

You do realize we're only two players at the table? I am not looking to fold out a set here...

I suck at this HU thing, so forgive my noobness. HU, aren't most sane players going to the wall with TPGK or better?

Which is why you're probably not going to get a big ace to fold either.

You've got a really weak draw and he's shown some confidence in his hand.

I am far from a headsup expert.

However, he seems to like his hand..he probably has a decent ace here, and you know he's not putting you on 10 7 or something..he knows the 6 didn't help...so it really comes down to whether or not he'll fold his ace. If his kicker sucks he might...but it seems risky and your draw sucks.

I was hoping to fold out AK some % of the time at least. Maybe this is too much to hope for. Sometimes I have the best hand here too, although I agree he's played it pretty strong.

What hand do you beat? J10? That's the only hand I can think of that you'd be ahead of at this point.

Like you said, it's 2 handed. You're not going to get a fold from AK here very often.

Many times you'll get re-raised PF with AK/AQ. If not, often you'll just get a flat-call on the flop hoping you fire big on the turn. His flop min-raise looks like A with a weak kicker to me looking to slow you down a little. But when you call & he bets the turn you must consider the possibility that he has a decent kicker or maybe even 2pair, possibly turned. Dunno, I think on the 2nd hand you maybe get away with this just about enough to make it worthwhile.
