I absolutely guarantee you with ZERO doubt whatsoever that the first time you ask to see my hand, I get MUCH tougher when playing against you in the future.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree with most of what Al wrote, but I'm a bit more lax than he is (I probably play in lower limit games with more noobs).

First time someone asks to see my cards in a session -- is a free pass. I shrug it off.

Second time -- I ask if they think I'm cheating, and explain that they're abusing the rule and making a serious ettiquite breach.

Third time -- I'm with Al completely. I'm asking to see their cards every time. If they make a borderline string bet, I'll call em on it to the dealer. Though I won't angle-shoot , we'll be playing strictly by the rules.

I know that I can do this without going on tilt, and hope the a-hole can't.

As an extrapolation here, a great defense against this kind of rudeness is to alert the floor right away that the "IWTSTH" rule is being abused/overused and get them to put a stop to it before the unpleasantness ruins a perfectly good game.

Many rooms have a rule on the books that in high limit games the floorman must be present when the dealer turns up the hand. edit: That is the floor has ot be there when someone wants to see someone else's cards.

What about for someone that always shows down like I do. I dont think I have ever mucked a hand. Hell, half the time I cant even remember who is supposed to show down first.

I also guarantee that if someone does this to me twice, or even pulls it at the table I'm at twice, that I will probably start asking to see EVERY ONE of their hands, but won't ask to see anyone else's
************************************************** *********
I have ZERO problem with this.
I will show my cards with a smile.
If others get their panties in a knot when I want to know whether they are bullies or legit then that is their problem not mine. And yes I am an internet player and I have never played in a casino. I play to win if someone is playing me tough then I want to understand every detail of their game. If they get mad and go on tilt, then that is a bonus. Someone made the comment that if I did that to them they would play tougher on me. I find this laughable. The only players I will do this to are the ones that are already playing me tough.

And for that matter I don't understand how knowing their hand will tell me whether they are cheating or not. If I'm trapped between two players doing see-saw raises then knowing the hand of the player that drops out will tell me whether there MIGHT be some funny stuff is going on.

Default Re: Dealer keeps showing people my cards

Just announce "they weren't my cards" when they're retrieved from the muck and shown.
