Thanks.

Why no sticky?

[/ QUOTE ]

This specific post isn't stickied because posts with responses aren't supposed to be stickied. It's a Mat/Mason rule due to advertisements.

This thread was actually created last night before the recent problem.

#1- No creating multiple accounts to defend yourself for your idiotic TV antics. [insert Head and Shoulders image here]

Seriously though, the problem with creating a FAQ on this forum is that it can't cover much. Really the only things that need to be said are:

- Don't create new threads about stuff that's already being discussed in other threads (e.g., we don't need 100 threads about Stillman being a turd sandwich)
- Threads should only be about things related to televised poker
- All posts references so-and-so player being a "douche" or whatever are controlled at the mod's discretion

Well, that's better than nothing.

ok? so why not make a new one that's a sticky with no responses instead of bumping an old thread that's going to sink to page 4 in a matter of days.

I'll keep it on Page 1.

Obviously, the final FAQ will be stickied.

Dynasty,

would you mind if I start with two questions.

What do you see as the purpose of this forum?

What reoccuring problems do you see take detract from that purpose?

I have some ideas but it will help if I know these answers.

I think a problem with this forum is the reposts of previously discussed topics. New users don't like doing a search and will just post and clutter up the board.

Don't create duplicate threads

If you see 8 threads about Hellmuth on the front page another one is NOT needed.

Why not? I didn't think you could ever have too many Helmuth threads.

Hmm, maybe I need to see more than 30 threads per page, Cause I don't see 8 Hellmuthian threads on the first page...

Do guidelines ever work?

IMHO, all it does is to create more posts: newbie creates a thread, regulars post in that thread that s/he should use search function, and then newbie responds that people shouldn't be so mean to him/her, and then others rebutt by calling him/her idiot, etc.

This happens so many times on 2+2 everyday.
