Stat question
What is considered an excellent win rate in NL, and what is the correlating standard deviation?
For fixed this is something like 6 big blinds/100 hands, with a standard deviation of 30 big blinds/100 hands. Edit: Exchanged bets for blinds. When in Rome do as the Romans, without confusing the Romans. Ds. |

Re: Stat question
6 big bets/100 in limit? That sure sounds excellent.
What winrate you can achieve does of course not depend just on you, but just as much on your oponents. 10PTBB/100 hands is considered very good. More is possible at the lowest games. Maybe 15PTBB/100, as long as you don't have crazy game selection, then you can do more. My standard deviation is around 60PTBB/100 hands after 25k hands at different levels of NL6max and 9PTBB/100 hands. I think that's a bit on the high end, maybe can be explained by me being quite loose. Around 50PTBB/100 is probably normal 1 PTBB = 2 big blinds. But ypu should use the search function before asking questions like this. (EDIT: Oh well, I suppose it's ok since standard deviation isn't discussed much.) |

Re: Stat question
I believe 10+PTBB/100 is doing rather well. What I can't figure out for the life of me is why do people play limit if you can only make 3PTBB/100 and that is only if you're really good.

Re: Stat question
I thought 1.5 Big Bets in Limit was considered the maximum long term profit.

Re: Stat question
I have almost 10k hands in PT (I bought the program like 10days ago) and my stats are :
Standard Deviation/100hands : 43.3BigBets Winrate : 10.95BB/100 I play at 200NL. I think this winrate is quite good but I dont know about std deviation (I mean I dont know if this std deviation guarantees good confidence of this winrate) Best wishes |

Re: Stat question
If you can keep up over 10 PTBB/100 at NL then you, my friend, are a tank.

Re: Stat question
Because on the same size bankroll with the same risk of ruin you play with significantly higher blinds in fixed.

Re: Stat question
As far as I can remember few people post their stats with winrates higher or close 10PTBB/100 so I think it can be achieved.
I think I had more than 15PTBB/100 at 100NL unfortunately I didnt have PT then so I cant be sure. Ok maybe its good winrate but "tank" is too much for it. Best wishes |

Re: Stat question
10-15PTBB seems VERY good to me. I've been playing about 2 months and have about 10k hands in PT. I am running 3.7PTBB/100, but that includes about 1/3 limit and some really awful play the first couple of weeks...
I play only NL now. Looking at NL only, I have 7.86PTBB/100. I think 10-15 can be sustained by a solid player in the low limits. In fact, I expect to get to 10+ by the end of the month. |
