Default AJ suited

2-3 NL hollwood park
Hero (button)-900 Villan (BB)-700 Villan2(SB)-300
Relativley LAP game.....was away from the game for a short while and Villan1 had amased a huge amount of chips in a short while.....other than that no real read on the villans..........
MP1 limps...Hero makes it 15(AhJh), SB rasies to 30, BB Asks dealer how many callers, thinks for about 5 seconds and then calls(i read as a weakness).....MP1 folds...hero calls
Flop Ac 3s 6d....SB check, BB bet 50, Hero calls based on previous weak read, SB mubles somthing about pocket queens and reluctantly folds...
Turn 8c......Villan bets 50 fast and i go into the tank....ive got him on A10,AJ, or AQ......i have AJ and the SB obviusly folded pocket Queens so im leaning towards A10....i think about moving in but decide it is 2 risky....Hero calls 50
River 6h.......Villan checks (weakness??????).....i go into the tank again....and check
Final pot @ 288
was i underagressive? played well? or should not have been involved in the hand in the first place......also please comment on all streets

AJ is not a hand I want to play for all my chips. I'd be happy to win a pot this size with AJ...if he checkraises huge on the river you have to throw your hand away, I like the calling down to keep the pot from getting larger than it already is...what makes you think he wouldn't have limped with AK, AQ, Axs and hit or worse he has a 6...calling down is the best way to lose the least when you behind and take a decent pot if he is betting a shitty kicker or middle pair....

i like how you played the hand up to the river. i think checking the river here is too passive as there are very many aces that the bb may be betting that you have beat. i cant see him checking AQ or AK on the river to you here, betting is relatively safe. expect to be called with some crap like a8

"crao like A8" would actually be two pair, but at any rate I think preflop flop and turn are fine. I would be a little wary if he came out betting the pot on the turn, but the underbet of 50 shows that he's certainly not in love with his hand. I would make a modest value bet on the river that he would feel compelled to call with a worse A, maybe 100 or so. Its highly unlikely he's getting tricky here with a huge hand, but if by some chance you did get check-raised, you'd probably have to fold. I agree that its improbable he would make that small a bet on the turn and check the river with AQ or AK unless he's extremely passive.

I am absolutely fine with this play. Maybe bet the river against a very readable straight up player, but I am checking this behind a good amount of the time.

...well, maybe not, I would bet $60 against a player that I could fold against if CR'd. I am not looking to play a big pot with this hand, but I think you are ahead a very good % of the time here, so a bet is +EV.

i wouldn't push, but i dont think i'd bet the river either. i agree that betting here is correct most times, however i would want a better read. he said he'd call your push so one must conclude that a check raise was possible.

This is what villain is saying with his commentary and his bets:

Preflop: I want to gammmbooooool.
Flop: I have an ace!
Turn: Maybe you have an ace too.
River: You raised preflop, you probably have a better ace.

I like your play, except you should throw in an extra bet somewhere after opponent's weak turn bet.
