Tomorrow I am ordering a second monitor. I also have to get a new video card. Any advice availabel about what card to get? Should I get a second card or a "double header" card to replace my current video card? I have the monito picked out so I guess my wuestion is "which video card?"

First - you probably already checked this, but make sure you have to get a second video card. Mine has both DVI and analog (RGB) ports on it so it is dual-monitor ready.

I am going through the same process of picking a new monitor. If money was not an issue, I'd get the Samsung 213T (21.3" LCD, 1600x1280, $1000) but I am eyeing a Sceptre (19" LCD, 1280x1024, $525) or two instead.

As far as your video card goes, do you need to use either monitor for serious gaming or other video applications? If not, I'd just buy a cheap $50-$70 PCI video card at your local Best Buy.

You can get a cheap video card like a nVidia AGP GE-Force 5200 Ultra from Best Buy usually for under $80. Any video card with DVI will have 2 monitor ports on the back but you'll need a DVI -> RCA converter for one of the connections (unless you're buying a digital monitor).

If it were up to me though, I'd get an ATI 9800 Pro since they offer the most bang for the buck for gaming. They run about $200 on eBay.
