Juan Pierre sucks ass. Giving up three good prospects for one year of someone who pretty much sucks ass is just fantastic.

[/ QUOTE ]

Career .305 average. Rarely strikes out. Steals about 50-60 bases a year. How is that sucking ass?

Pierre doesn't suck ass, but it has nothing to do with his strikeouts or stolen bases.

The argument that he doesn't suck ass pretty much starts and ends with his .355 career OBP. As soon as his avg drops he'll suck ass, just like he sucked ass last year.

This is what I was talking about, Loafergee. Well, that and typical fan overreaction. I don't really like players that have so much of their OBP tied to AVG and have no power whatsoever. His defense by most accounts seems to blow. I did make the mistake of thinking he was about 30-31 instead of 28.

Even if he matches his career averages I think it's still too much to give up for him. I would've preferred Brad Wilkerson easily. This trade doesn't seem near the most optimal possible.

hendry reportedly is not interesting in acquiring huff. fire hendry, hire epstein or depo. fire dusty while you're at it.

I couldn't disagree more (about Hendry). I'm not going to say he's midas, but the guy makes moves. Some work out really well (Aram & D.Lee trades, Barrett signing), some don't (Nomar trade, LaTroy signing). But he's never made a move that I vehemently disagreed with at the time. He sets limits both in the free agent and trade markets, and sticks to them.

HE SIGNED NEFI FOR 5MIL!!!!! please disagree with that. or bringing in macias. or bako. or blanco. or guthrie. or protect good prospects on the 40 man instead of the bench shlubs and guys like will ohman that are freely availible.

has he made some good deals? sure. would anyone sitting on the sidelines have made them? you bet. frankly, I think the best moves he's made, other than lee, are the ones that didn't work.
