Default Too aggro with 77?

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, MP calls, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, UTG folds, MP calls, CO calls.

Flop: (11.40 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP checks, CO checks, Hero bets, MP calls, CO folds.

Turn: (6.70 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP raises, Hero calls.

River: (10.70 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP bets, Hero raises, MP folds.

Final Pot: 13.70 BB

Limpers are too loose, raiser is 16/10 TAG. Is turn bet good? Turn call is easy, but what do I do if he leads blank river? A river? K river? Another [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?

I would probably check this turn as given the way the hand played out to that point there is a strong chance you do not have the best hand but do have a ton of outs. Other than the turn I like every other street.

As for the different river questions: I fold the river UI, call a spade, and raise a straight/set.

3-betting preflop is lame. You don't have much of a pot equity edge. And, really, in a 4-way pot with 77, it's to your advantage to let the guy on your right have the lead, so that you can fold the bad flops and force the field to call two bets cold on good flops.

This is actually a pretty good flop for you, all things considered. Your bet is clear-cut - as is your turn bet. You might very well have the best hand on the turn, and even if you don't you have outs.

And the river raise looks good too. You're folding to a 3-bet, right?

Even though folding to the 3 bet is profitable, I don't think he needs to plan to fold to the 3 bet to make the river raise worthwhile.

I'm not sure I'd call 3-betting preflop "lame" since I think it's relatively close in a SH game, but I agree a call is better for the reasons you outlined.

I don't disagree with you.

istewart - I guess I could have used a better word than "lame." Of course three-betting isn't awful. By lame...I just meant there's clearly a better option, even if raising doesn't cost you all that much. Lame = meh, not OMFG YOU SUCK AT POKER YSSCKY.

I think in a heads-up pot with probably like 10ish outs on average and a made hand that may well be good but is vulnerable to redraws...

Betting the turn is significantly better than checking.

The "cost" of getting raised is not that high because we have a ton of outs. I would prefer checking if we didn't have such a strong made hand and we had fewer outs. (In other words, our equity is generally so high here we really need to bet).
