Re: Post your favorite God quote
"Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead; and we have killed him." -Nietzsche's Madman
Since this is often misunderstood out of context, I'm giving a link here of the rest if anyone is interested. It's still only a small section of a bigger book, but it's very, very cool IMO. http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/mod/n...he-madman.html |

[ QUOTE ]
Even though it apparently takes Nietzsche's writings out of context [/ QUOTE ] The best way I've seen to explain Nietzhe's "god is dead" quote without extensive study of his philosophy is this: Christianity has killed belief in god by postulating an unbelievable god. Scott edit: PS And a good simplification of Kierkegaard is to say that Christianity has enabled faith in god by postulating an unbelievable god. |

Re: Post your favorite God quote
God on the 7th Day:
"Ah, that's that done then... Oh my Me... What's all this pot doing lying around? Sh*t, I should never have had that joint on the third day... People are going to want to smoke this now... Now I'm going to have to invent Republicans." (Bill Hicks) |

[ QUOTE ]
I got this from http://www.jaypinkerton.com/backofthebible.html Here's mine: "I will rebuke your offerings, then spread dung on your faces." (Malachi 2:3) I checked my bible for its version and its slightly longer but says the same thing. Anyway, whats your favorite god quote? [/ QUOTE ] "You must invade Iraq". As reported my GW Bush |
