Default Re: Stat question

After 74,135 hands I had 2.97 poker tracker big bets per 100. That is low compared to the other postings, but it netted me over $1,100 profit at NL $25 and $50 after a $240 buy-in, so I'm not complaining. But even 75K isn't all that many hands as a sample size for a game that is theoretically infinite. I think most of the big 10+ poker tracker big bets per 100 are typically from guys still under 30K hands. I know a few of you guys can sustain higher win rates over many more hands, but I'm pretty happy so far given the sample size. I think I can sustain this moderate rate at these levels indefinitely with a very low "risk of ruin."

One area of play I need to improve on is knowing when to raise bigger on the river with marginal hands that I know are good enough to get called and win based on my read of the opponent. I tend to get a little passive on the river with a "the only hand that calls a raise is one that has me beat" attitude. As a result, I'm probably not maximixing my winning pot sizes as much as I might if I had better player/hand reading skills at the river.

What's your standard deviation? I'm really after both win rate and standard deviation.

Hands: 56,478 @ NL$25/NL$50
BB/100 9.48
Profit: $3043.48

Where do if find Standard Deviation?

I think 7-8/100 is ok but i also believe that 12-14 is not out of the question at the lower levels. 10 is what i'm shooting for but i believe i can get it higher at these levels.

[ QUOTE ]
I believe 10+PTBB/100 is doing rather well. What I can't figure out for the life of me is why do people play limit if you can only make 3PTBB/100 and that is only if you're really good.

[/ QUOTE ]

I started out playing limit and quickly changed to NL, since it only made since. If I have a better grasp of the game and can control the pot, then I'm going to make more money. I've asked this general question to limit players and my only conclusion is that they're afraid for some reason. Most of them seem to be 'the glass is half empty' kind of people. Not all of course, but that's my general conclusion, so thus they are on the extreme end of weak/tight. PLUS it's such a grind playing limit. Very boring imo.

Now if you play 15/30 limit, and you're a flawless player, then it may make sense, but small stakes limit sucks imo. And btw 3BB/100 (not ptbb) is considered very good in limit.

In my case it is because frankly I make more money playing limit on the same bankroll. (I can play limit with 4-5 times as high blinds on exactly the same roll. So that I make 2.5PTBB/100 instead of 7PTBB/100 still means I make more money.)

I don't know how to calculate standard deviation with the PT stats.

Is there a feature in the PT application to find it?
