Re: Everybody said this sucked
I'd like it if you were setting up a 3-bet against an overaggressive opponent on the turn. Unfortunately, you're not

Re: Everybody said this sucked
well yes ideally we would like to get 3+ bets in on the turn.
the bet/3bet line is one way, and the CR/cap is another. the first has a very serious risk of only getting in 1 bet on the turn, and there is no chance villan is capping those times we 3bet, whilst holding anything we beat. the second way almost garantees 2 bets, with a higher probibility of getting in a cap. thus i think its clear which option is preferable. |

I'd like it if you were setting up a 3-bet against an overaggressive opponent on the turn. Unfortunately, you're not [/ QUOTE ] I'm setting up a bet/3-bet on the turn because he'll suspect I'm on something like TT-KK thinking the board pairing means he doesn't have the ace. Once he simply calls the turn, I know that he's definitely on the flush draw or an unlikely 8. I'm checkraising the river so I can cap it because even idiots think their flush is good there. Setting up for a turn checkraise sure looks like suck here. The guy's passive, he's likely to take his free card. And on the majority of time when he takes his free card and doesn't hit on the river, I've lost out on 1BB. TStoneMDB brought up a point though, so maybe the turn c/r isn't out of question since the Ace paired he'd probably bet out on that. Don't know how to quantify that. |

Re: Everybody said this sucked
posting blind, im sure others have said this but...
to maximize your $$$ against these fish... 3bet flop, lead turn, lead river... or if he never checks behind on turns after raising flops, call flop, c/r turn, lead river |

Re: Everybody said this sucked
i agree if you fear hell take a free card then not 3betting the flop is out of the question.

Re: Everybody said this sucked
I 3bet the flop because I expect it to be the greatest value line... he will cap it himself with a pair+FD a surprising amount of the time, and he certainly isn't folding any pair. as baron said, if he can't help from betting the turn i'd go for a c/r there, but against most loose/bad i 3bet because I can't depend on them to bet a big street after that action.
