Default Open ended on the flop...pump it?

New table, all I know is that the button is a real maniac. He always seems to win for some reason I guess because people start playing bad hands but he's a huge maniac.

River: (11 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, HEro checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 11 BB

It was really wierd for the button to be checking turn/river like that, but eh..I guess that was good for me. Was calling/3-betting the flop here good?

Default Re: Open ended on the flop...pump it?

Preflop call is marginal but not unforgivable.

Given yr read on button, a raise of the initial bet on the flop for a free card might not be the best idea, so yr call is fine. When it['s back around to you I actually like closing the action on the flop for a chance to checkraise the field if you hit the turn. It's harder to do that if you 3 bet the flop. It might be a wash though -- I guess I like going for the long ball.

I don't think you played this badly though.

Nice hand.

Check out shadow's thread on table selection, as you have the worst possible seat here.
