Omaha Rakeback
Hi Guys,
At the very end of PokerProdigy's post on newbie questions, he asked about rakeback promotions for Omaha. Well, I never looked at this too much, but this weekend I happened to be scrolling around on PokerTracker and noticed that I have paid $395 to PP in the last couple months. Is that a lot...probably not with limits between .5/1 and 2/4 but I want to fix this if I can. Who uses a rakeback program, who has the best, and how do I sign up for it? Thanks, Ironman Dave |

Re: Omaha Rakeback
Rakeback is a must regardless of what game you play. In the green stripe on the left hand side of the page at the top there's a link that says "Classified Ads." This will give you a bunch of options for affiliates that have rakeback and what percentage they reimburse.

Re: Omaha Rakeback
If you play at Party, find a Eurobet Rake back program. They have their own cashier, so it will be much harder for Party to nail them like they did pokernow.

Re: Omaha Rakeback
Question about value of rakeback to O8. Seen a couple of posts saying that nearly all hands are raked and that the rake is huge. Rakeback is more valuable than limit HE? What a bonus in top of-
1) Higher winrate 2) Ease of multitabling 3) Lower variance. Go O8. Anyway, what would you estimate rakeback is worth per table in say BB/hr? |

Re: Omaha Rakeback
That would depend on your limit, the higher you go, the less BB/hr you would make because of caps. Low limit worked at to about 1BB/100 for me.

Re: Omaha Rakeback
I said- "worth per table in say BB/hr?"
You said- "Low limit worked at to about 1BB/100 for me." That sounds like a hell of a lot per hr per table, so I assume that's overall? How many tables do you play? Also, what limits are regard as low/mid/high? |

Re: Omaha Rakeback
My understanding is that the rake is based on the size of the pot and the level played, and is the same for all game types. At 10-20, the rake usually caps out at the maximum $3, which means at a full table each person’s share is $0.30 per hand. With an average of 60/hands per hour, that’s $18 in rake per table per hour. If your rakeback deal is 25% for simplicity, then that’s $4.50/table/hour. Figure that not every hand gets to $3 rake since people will sometimes fold early, so Call it $4.00/table/hour for simplicity. Which is 0.2BB/hour (big bets), or 0.4 Big blinds/hour. Playing lower limits should have higher rake, but not by a huge amount. --Greg |

Re: Omaha Rakeback
My stats for 2000+ hands show about 50hands/hr
And my figure was for hands, regardless of tables. I usually play 1-2 tables. My rake back deal was 20% I consider low limits to be .5/1 and 1/2, they rarely hit the cap, and sometimes are not raked at all. Low limits would be higher as a percent of BB. |
