What effect would an Ivey/Matusow Final Table have on internet poker?

I don't play on full tilt yet, but as far as I'm aware, FT doesn't sponsor Matusow. If you play at full tilt and get enough player points, you can get your own custom jersey. I could be mistaken, but at least from everything that I've seen, their team is Andy Bloch, Clonie Gowen, Lederer, Ivey, Lindgren, Juanda, Seidel, Phil Gordon, Chris Fergueson, and Jennifer Harmon. Although they aren't going to shun the free press of having 2 big names with jerseys on, I've never seen anything anywhere that says that Matusow is actually affiliated. I odn't think anybody would be that dumb to actually let him represent them.

I think it would undoubtedly increase Full Tilt's popularity. There software and graphics are right there at the top. The pros are always playing there which appeals to the newbies. The bonus is enticing as hell for someone who does not understand a goood bonus. All this being said, I look for Full Tilt to have a great increase in traffic after the airing of the WSOP ME.

That is, however, if they don't go broke from having to payout the piece of the pros contestants who won the Matusow and Ivey tournaments.

the increase won't happen until after the WSOP ME airs on TV in october or whenever it is. 90% of poker followers don't even know it's going on right now. they probably think it's live when it's shown on tv.

If Matusow ends up winning the thing, I hope he has a better story for why he went to jail then what he's been using lately.

Poker's going to have a hard time staying mainstream if its current champion has a well-documented drug conviction.
