Check fold.

If button didn't have a pair of 8s beat on the flop, what did he call your flop bet with?? An ace, probably.

You played your 8s strong preflop and strong on the flop and button was unimpressed. This should worry you. Button has put in 325 chips. With what? 77? KQ? Probably something better than that...

Don't avoid the correct action because it "feels weak". You can check/fold and still have plenty of chips left. Wait for a better (or more desperate) situation to put all your chips in.
