Default 10-20 Foxwoods AA hand Saturday night

10-20 Foxwoods Saturday night. Just sat down about 10 minutes ago, so no reads on anyone, nor any reads on me.
I am MP with AhAd. 2 callers before me, 1 raise to 20, late position makes it 3 bets, 2 original callers fold. I raise to 40. He calls. FLop comes JJ2, rainbow. I bet out, he raises to 20, I call, thinking since I just sat down, that I have no clue what he has, and he might be trying to get me off my hand, implying JX. Turn is a Q, now board is suited spades. I check he bets, I call. River is a 7, offsuit. I check he bets, I call. Comments?

FYI- I am a long time reader(4 yrs),First time poster.
I play 10-20 limit mainly at Foxwoods, and Vegas when I make it out there. Usually log in about 25 hrs/ month.

I'm not a usual high-stakes poster, but I have played 10/20 live before. I think that just calling the flop against an unknown is kind of weak. You should definitely 3-bet this, and get cautious to a cap or a turn raise. He 3-bet PF. The only logical way he has a J is if he has quads, and he probably wouldn't raise the flop with that. He probably has KK or the other AA a fair amount here. QQ is possible, but check/calling after a flop raise just isn't enough here.

you could check-raise the turn to extract maximum value, but i like three-betting the flop and taking control of the hand. the way you played it there's a big danger of him checking behind on the river (unless he actually does have the jack, but that's highly unlikely).

now board is suited spades

The board went from rainbow to suited?

FWIW Your hand likes this flop. AJ rarely 3 bets preflop against 2 limpers and a raise. So unless he has JJ (highly unlikely since two J's are on the board) you need to play it fairly strong. In general your hand has about the same power heads up as a set of 2's. Play it accordingly.

Oh and once it's heads up preflop I'd give some consideration to not 4 betting.

yeah you were too weak on the later streets, i highly suspect he shows something such as queens, i would probably call the flop bet, and c/r the turn, other then the occasional AJs, QJs, JTs you are way ahead, you gotta be more aggressive here for sure

I like 3-betting the flop and leading the turn and river. Call it down if you get popped on a big street.

check-raise the turn and fold to a three-bet. Bet the river if he just calls.

After I called, he flips over JJ and I muck. I then go have a cigarette and shot of Captains. Thanks for the input!

Definitely screwed this hand up, should have folded on the flop, or at worst the turn

no, you should not have folded. That would be absolutely terrible. Good lord.

I dont know why you said 'thanks for the input' if you didnt read any of it. No one said to fold from what I read, in fact they told you that you played it like a schoolgirl.
