I personally believe that the act of death is pretty close to what you feel as you're falling asleep (I'm talking peaceful deaths, not stabbed-in-the-heart deaths). as you drift away you lose more and more awareness of what's happening to you, and become pretty peaceful about it by the time you pass.
(as you might guess I also developed somniphobia that probably will never go away as a result of the whole existnetial anxiety episode. sweet!) as for dealing with the death of loved ones.. I lost my grandmother last winter, but it never hit be too hard because I sort of accepted the fact that her time had to come sometime, and that life will go on without her. what hit me the most was seeing the rest of my family devastated about it while I was sort of complacent. it does make you sort of stoic (w/c?) when you look at it taht way, but... that's the price of taking the easy way out. bah, enough of this. boobies boobies boobies!
