I agree entirely. The problem here is that we live in a world now where double-standards are always frowned upon and everyone always likes to think that they are completely unacceptable. But the truth is that double standards are all around us and they are not unacceptable because men and women are different and in some cases, we are very different. For example, we couldn't send women into combat because most women are not physically capable of meeting the rigors of, say, a Vietnam jungle environment, toting a heavy pack and rifle every day for a year while engaging in combat that sometimes breaks down to hand-to-hand combat with a male opponent. We are just different physically and mentally in so many ways. I'm not saying that a man cannot be taken advantage of sexually, but it is always consentual and if she walks into court and says "your honor, he was asking for it." Frankly, that's got to be true because at 13, I would have done ANYTHING to have sex with her. What's next? A guy gets drunk at a fraternity house party and wakes up with a beast in bed next to him and sues her for getting him drunk and "raping" him?

why the hell is she staying with some family if she can afford a $50,000 bail? imo if that was my kid i would think he was the [censored] and keep the teacher around.

Who here went to a high school where a student didn't have sex with a teacher? /my hand is not up [/ QUOTE ] As far as I know this did not happen at my high school, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. We did have a teacher who literally started dating a former student the week after she graduated. Clever! Also, I'm calling BS on the former porn star thing unless I get a name.
