the Search casino on MenuBar street is a great way to find some loose NL games. And Excalibur.

Play the 2/5 NL at the Bellagio. The buy-in is 200 min/200max. The game is super soft and the players continually re-load.

The $1/$2NL at Bally's was good to me when I was there a week ago. Never ran into a tough table at any time of the day. $100 min/$200 max buy-in, usually 1-3 tables running.

There is no game as loose and as juicy as the $50-max buyin at Luxor (they let you add on $50 anytime you are below $50, so I would always post and rebuy). With blinds of 1-1-2, the idiots go all-in and rebuy, lather, rinse, repeat. Since it's generally 7 idiots and 2 bad regulars at the table, a few invariably build up big stacks, think they are poker gods, and are ripe for the picking. In terms of an hourly earning potential, I think this game is even better than the $200 NL at Bellagio.

Bally's on graveyard for 1-2 no limit. Hell, anywhere on graveyard! MGM on swing or graveyard for anything 4-8 limit or lower or 1-2 no limit and sometimes 2-5 no limit.

Skip playing anywhere during dayshift when the grouchy old local rocks are out and you'll be just fine. Sleep 9a-5pm. Eat dinner when you wake up, THEN start thinking about poker.

p.s. you might want to invest in a protective cup if you're coming to vegas. After all, I do live here.

I plan on going to Vegas between Jan 6-9 2006 (First time visiting). I'm on a low budget and would like to play 1/2 nl he too. I plan to have a budget of around $1,000 for poker and stay at Ballys.

I wonder if getting a poker rate room is a good idea or not? If i go bust, i probably won't be able to complete the hours.

I'm able to beat the 25 nl he games on party poker. How would you compare the b & m 1/2 nl he games to 25 nl he on party poker?

I'm 23 and have never played nl he live before.

thanks,

YoungOne

I think you'll be fine. Bally's is a good place to play $1/2 NL and there are plenty of people who will play just as badly as in your NL25 game. The money you've brought (5 $200 buy-ins) should be sufficient and you probably will be able to do all the hours you need each day there with no problem. Bally's is a good location because you can hop next door to find games at Paris or the Aladdin or can cross Flamingo Road and get a similar game at the Flamingo. And the Bellagio and Caesar's are across the street!

Regarding the original post, I love playing low-limit NL at the Excalibur and Bally's. The Stratosphere is also pretty decent and touristy at times and sometimes I'll play the NL $1/2 game at the MGM Grand.
