Omaha abbreviations.
Lots of abbreviations out there, but I'm a little confused.
I play Omaha Hi/Lo on party. Is this LO8, LO8b, or just LO?? I'm unsure as to what the "b" stands for, in entirety. |

Omaha Hi/Lo is also called Omaha Eight-or-Better or simply Omaha 8/b. Back in the day, not all hi/lo games had the eight-or-better qualifier for the low side, so 8/b was added to the name to clarify. The distinction is now redundant, however, since every hi/lo game is now played with a qualifier. |

The distinction is now redundant, however, since every hi/lo game is now played with a qualifier. [/ QUOTE ] Believe it or not, I played in a no-qualifier Omaha HL and Stud HL at Fort McDowell. That is why I always try to get people to say Stud 8 or Omaha 8 instead of high/low, HL, etc. It really can make a difference if you don't find out first!
