Paul/George/Ringo were probably too busy in years 1-2 to be bothered.

Dammit, the Stooges got screwed again.
As far as hip-hop goes, it will get in eventually. It's just a matter of the old white men finally putting in someone like Grandmaster Flash or Run DMC. Once that happens, more and more acts will start getting in. As someone said above, they do wait until 25 years after the first release of a particular artist to induct them. There is a nomination process, though it is pretty loose. They then choose inductees from this list (of 30 or so, maybe?) I do not believe there is a limit on a number of inductees in any given year, but I'll have to double check that with my friend who worked at the Rock hall.

Plus Deb Harry used to be quite hot. Hot female lead singers should be a category.
