OESFD question
Hi guys,
I think this hand is pretty standard given the situation (or at least I hope so), but I have a follow-up question below. Villian is straightforward LAG, but would require a reasonably strong hand to re-raise preflop. When checked to he will make a strong continuation bet on the flop ~100% of the time. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx saw flop|saw showdown BB ($13.65) UTG ($29.46) UTG+1 ($29.40) UTG+2 ($23.63) MP1 ($24.40) Hero ($38.42) MP3 ($25) CO ($7.40) Button :Villian ($78.16) SB ($24.50) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP3 posts a blind of $0.25. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 4 folds, Hero raises to $1, 2 folds, Button : Villian raises to $3, 2 folds, Hero calls $2. Flop: ($6.60) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Villian bets $7, Hero bets $35.42 (All-In), Villian calls $28.42. Turn: ($77.44) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) River: ($77.44) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Final Pot: $77.44 ------ I felt pretty comfortable going for the all-in check/raise here because I was ~100% confident he would bet, and additionally felt he would call my push with any overpair (which is fine with me considering my powerhouse draw). My follow-up question is against a more reasonable player do you usually go for a bet-3 bet in this spot? What factors would you consider when making your decision whether to c/r or b/3b. (EDIT: and how would you size your initial bet?) Thanks, Jason |

Re: OESFD question
I'd usually lead pot and push to a raise (with these stack sizes)... or if stacks are slightly smaller, then I'd C/R all-in.

Re: OESFD question
i like the checkraise but i would tend to fold that to a re-raise preflop out of position.

Re: OESFD question
Post flop: fairly standard
Preflop: what is the point of raising to $1. When I see someone do this it usually means "donkey on board". Not saying your a donkey but I think you either raise at LEAST $2 or limp it. |
