Default 77 in CO 1st hand

1st hand and MP3 is a known LAG. Flop line is nagging me. I thought about 3 betting the flop but decided against it as Villain would most likely bet into me on the turn. I hate the cold call. BB is sLA-A and would complete with a variety of hands. Comments?

I fold the flop. Even if my sevens are good now (which is questionable), they probably won't be by the river and it's going to cost me several extra bets to find out.

If it had been checked to the LAG pfrer and he had bet, I would have raised, obviously. But given the way the flop action went, I don't like my hand that much.

With few reads on the table, I like your pf call. A raise is too aggro here.

On the flop, I think I 3 bet. If BB & UTG call or if there is a cap, then I think I can find the fold button to almost any turn bet if I'm UI.

grunching

To be honest, I think cold-calling with 77 is marginal with only 2 limpers in front that will (probably) call the raise.

On the flop, with the BB leading out and being raised, I think you have to drop here. You've got a gutshot (4 outs) and a 2-outer for the set. That's 6 outs and I'm not sure you can even count the two 7s as full outs on this coordinated board. So cold-calling again here is real thin.

Hero had posted, so he got to see the flop for half-price. This is a very easy, routine call preflop. (In some situations, you might 3-bet to isolate the LAG, but with limpers already in this probably isn't the time for that play).

1. Preflop: he isn't cold calling. he's a poster and this is an easy call.

2. Flop: folding a 6 outer getting 7:1 is a bad idea.

3. Turn: getting 12-1 on a 5 outer is easy

4. River: good fold.

I am discounting the 6 outs to 4 due to the redraws and hands that may already be out there.

With that in mind I fold the flop when its 2 back to me.

why would you do this? it isn't like there's a higher set possibly out there? and the only other "redraw" would be 87 having a higher straight.

You have to admit that we're not going to be real comfortable pumping this when a 7 comes on the turn, right?
