Why did you think he was overrated? You might be the only one who thought so.

I never did. It was a comment to the dozens on this board who do think so.

He's a great QB. He just was playing limp most of last year, and after a major sack by the Falcons in week1, his injuries started to pile up. I mean, if you look at the early years on the eagles rise (1st NFC championship game) he was probably averaging at least 50yds rushing a game. However, I hope the Eagles front office realize T.O. made them a dangerous team to play against. Now, with no true deep threat, even when Mcnabb returns they have issues.

Think the Eagles wish they still had Deuce Staley?

I can never understand how people think the bad play of a backup quarterback somehow proves that a qb is great.

So, what have we established in the last few weeks? McNabb > McMahon. Congratulations. All of those who were arguing that McMahon was a better QB have been thoroughly pwned.

He had an injury that clearly affected his throwing and running abilities so of course he wasn't gonna play as well but for some reason all this "McNabb isn't a leader", "McNabb isn't a great QB" etc stuff started to surface.

McNabb is a very good QB. I don't think he's excellent, but certainly not a product of the media because he's black, or any silly [censored] like that. Last year he completed 64% of his passes, threw 31 TDs and 8 picks. How is that not [censored] great?

brett,

I'm saying nothing of McNabb's abilities, except that Mike McMahon sucking does not prove that McNabb is great.

McNabb had a great season last year. His overall numbers are pretty darn average. His accuracy has never been great. He receives a lot more hype than his skills deserve. The NFL tries to create stars and McNabb was one of their chosen projects.
