datamining and pokertracker
I've looked around and can't find much on this other than contrasting opinions. What are the + and - for having a seperate database for observed hands and one for hands played yourself?

Re: datamining and pokertracker
I think the major advantage is that you don't have all the extra detail information clogging your main database. I have them separated and I am a part time player, but my played hands database is huge. I recently zipped it for back up purposes and the zip file was 82 MB. I would imagine for the truly serious players, this database can be come quite cumbersome quickly.
I only have a little over 50K hands that I have actually played in the database and probably half as much from datamining. But the datamining information is only summary with no detail of the actual hands. The real value of hand replay is knowing what your opponent had and how they played it. I don't think you get that feel when you datamine so it is more important to get an overall feel for how they play, and not get into the details. |
