Default A2s in BB on ace high flop vs. large field... can I fold?

In this hand the SB is a young attractive girl in the early stages of pregnancy. She likes to check/call, in one hand she had KK (no raise preflop on button) and she check calls to river, the scariest thing on board was the turn putting a pair of tens out there.

She only seems to bet out with strong holdings, but she also appears to be playing every hand. I am in the BB.

5-10 Motorcity (8 max table) ---8 players.

UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds, button calls, SB completes, hero checks with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

7 players---FLOP: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB bets, hero.....?

I have top pair with worst kicker and a total lack of redraws. Everyone behind me is a world champion calling station.

Fold. No question.

Why raise and not knock anyone out and pay two bets to draw to two pair when any diamond will probably sink you. It's so easy to lose this if you are ahead now or even if you catch a two to take the lead on the turn. Too many cards can fall to counterfeit you two pair.

Yeah. I knew I overplayed this one.

SB bets, hero raises, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, button calls, SB calls.

TURN: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

SB checks, hero....?

After I foolishly raise the flop and fail to reduce the field I am faced with another tough decision. The pot is now big and I still have top pair. Bet to protect a possible best hand (however slight) or should I check/fold?

My first instict was to fold, but then I imagined all the 2+2er's calling me a weak tight pussy. "You have top friggin pair, raise!" I guess it wasn't weak tight to fold here afterall.

Have I become a maniac?
