Default All-in bet player away from final table

I was playing a pot-limit hold-em tournament at a BM casino near where I am living. 10 people left, final table (9) gets paid. I am the short stack of my five handed table- 28,000 with 5,000-10,000 blinds. I look down and see A7o and go all in. Figured I had a decent hand and was basically just trying to steal the blinds and stay alive. Unfortunately the BB had QQ so that was the end of me. I don't think I did the wrong thing in this situation, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a different move at the end. The only other thing I can think of here is to fold that hand, wait for my big blind, and go all-in regardless of what I have. Comments?
