He ended up playing on a double zero wheel.

Why would anyone want to do this downtown? Lets say you lose. After loosing everything you own, the last place I would want to be is downtown Vegas where all the bums are. You look around and all you see is bums and you start to think, hell I just lost all my money I might fit in here.

Thanks...obviously that seals it, he's a pro for sure.

Going by the numbers (for maximizing % of a one-shot win), he plays:

Bacc banker
Bacc player
craps don't pass
craps pass

Followed by a long parade of sundry bets on various games, towards the end of which is...double zero roulette.

So he must either a) perceive a marketing advantage in playing the Mother of all Sucker games, or he really does have milled sawdust for brains.

Bacc, you might argue, is no stranger to 100K bets. That's just a good-sized toke for that Packer guy. It's a ho-hum bet for the Hong Kong shipping magnate crowd too. It's a real jungle out there in news-wire-land, so Bacc is out.

Craps...craps is so little known outside the US that maybe, again from a marketing perspective, he figures this is a loser after all the dumb explanations necessary to inform the world that "pass" means "win" etc.

Same general problem with other bets on other games.

So he's left with roulette. But there are at least a couple of single-zero wheels even in Vegas. He need not submit his entire bankroll to a double-barreled shotgun as was his ultimate choice.

So I guess he's just an idiot, albeit a pro idiot.
