Re: PL 200 tough spot
Maybe you think with 80-90% accuracy that you're ahead of UTG but you can never know for sure unless he flips his cards. Bad players get lucky. When average button calls you should have no problem tossing your TPGK

Re: PL 200 tough spot
Do you have some PT numbers? on the button particularly? Without that, I'm folding.
An average, which I'm reading to mean not terrible, player cold calls a (admittedly small) raise preflop... then cold calls a bet and a significant raise on the flop... your hand is vulnerable... you are OOP... and the villians stack is still large enough to give you a tough decision if you continue... I don't see how you can do anything but fold the hand. |

Re: PL 200 tough spot
Part of me really likes a push here. But I think the best line is to call and then lead/fold the turn.

What put me off is how much are you going to lead the turn for? There will be $200 in the pot and the Villian has less than $180 left. I don't think you can make a meaningful lead on the turn and still get away from the hand. |

Re: PL 200 tough spot
The thing is that no one makes moves in this game. You can lead for $50-75 and fold to a push, IMO.

i folded.
i think that folding here was a mistake. what hands would an opponent just call with on the button? most likely AJ, KJ, QQ, or a flush draw. these hands could not call a push from me. the opponents would need to ask, "well what am i beating?" and they'd realize that they're calling to split or lose. thus, most people would fold. pushing was the best move. anyways, button had KJ and UTG had A2o. |
