$2000 is probably enough if you're a decent (but not really good/great) player.

Wow, I must be using really conservative bankroll figures. My bankroll is over 3K, and I am mainly still playing 3/6 when paying limit (I mainly play PL) and just beginning to dabble in 5/10. Does the 300bb rule not apply to O8, because of lower variance?

You could probably play with a little lighter roll but some of these suggestions are just silly. 100BB downswings happen to everyone. I would suggest at least 250BBs for any game. I had this arguement a couple months ago(old account got banned) with a couple people on this forum and apparently variance hasnt hit them yet because they all thought they were freakin bulletproof.

i would have to agree with you, I have had some tough swings. I was hoping someone would say around 5k as that is what i was planning on using.

You need an initial $2000 but thats only going to last you about a month. The gap between 5/10 and 10/20 is pretty big. The fluctuations just seem less big cos you are playing more slowly.
Also what is good have you beaten the 5/10 games for at least 3 months.
If I were you I would play 2 tables of 5/10 onlie

If $2000 is only going to last about a month, wouldn't you need more than an initial $2000? I don't understand this comment.

Of course if your foe had A245 I doubt you would be posting this

If he did have A245 it would have been the first good hand he would have at a showdown. But i like the way I get double suited, and the OTHER 2 suits are on flush draws on the turn >_<. Ain't it always the way.
