To fire Tony La Russa for not winning the WS would be dumb. You need some reason that makes sense. Bobby Cox hasn't won a WS in 9 years despite going to the playoffs every time, and firing him would be really, really dumb. Who's going to be better than La Russa that's out there, right now? It's not like that list is huge.

There are lots of reasons. And if you followed the team you'd know them. He consistently makes terrible decisions. The demand to fire him for not winning a WS is merely citing the end result of his incompetance, not a reason in and of itself.

I'd rather have Jim Tracy for one.
