Welcome to the Politics Forum.

A wide variety of political views are expressed and discussed on this forum.

Political discussions can be very interesting and informative--and at times may also become quite vigorous. Here are some guidelines which should make discussions better, as well as some specific rules which must be followed.

First, the Operating Policies of the Terms and Conditions of Use. These must be adhered to.

Operating Policies

The operating policies of 2+2 set forth the rules that govern your activity on the 2+2 website. While using 2+2 website, you may not post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, profane, or otherwise objectionable information of any kind; including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international laws.

While you are free to post on the 2+2 website using an alias, you may not post pretending to be someone else.

2+2 and ConJelCo reserve the right to refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, that, in its sole discretion, are unacceptable, undesirable, or in violation of this Agreement. Continued abuse will result in your being banned from posting on the 2+2 website.

All users are also encouraged to read the entire Terms and Conditions.

Another very important rule:

Don't circumvent the profanity filter or use misspellings to try and make your point.

Now, for some guidelines which will help make discussions better for everybody:

1) Don't engage in outright name-calling, or in making disparaging remarks or implications about other posters. Try to debate the issue rather than attacking the poster. For instance it's fine to state that someone's idea is ridiculous and to argue why you think it is ridiculous. Please however don't call that poster an idiot. Doing so is not conducive to good further discussion.

2) Try not to put words into the mouths of others or misquote them or misrepresent their positions. If you are unsure, it may be best to quote them exactly including any relevant context.

3) Don't merely troll or flame.

4) Content-rich posting is good, and provides much for discussion. It also helps you make your points far more effectively.

OK that's about it for now. Moderators have the latitude to edit or delete posts, as well as to warn or ban posters. While striving for leniency as a general rule, some conduct can and will result in banning (especially if warnings are ignored).

Our goal is to foster an open and civil environment for the discussion of politics on this forum. The Rules and Guidelines help with that so please do keep them in mind.

Happy Posting,

M

I used to drink whole milk....was told it was good for me.

Then I was told that it really wasn't all that good, and that I should switch to 2%, so I did.

It was then pointed out that 1% was even better than 2%, so I gave that a try.

No one yet has suggested that I go to pure skim, but I imagine it's coming sooner or later.

Then, of course......there's water.

I also guess that we can get used to anything..let's see how the Brain Police do, eh?

....Life is just a dream....... shboom, shboom, shboom....

Default Full-time it or outsource it

Business does not hire part-time security. Business either hires them as employees and they are doing security full time (unpaid volunteers are also full timers), or outsources this to a specialist firm.

(BTW, I hear this is the next big idea for dotcom entrepreneurs; offering moderation services to anal retentive websites. You read it here first.)

In so many words, you gotta stop posting.

Thanks mmmmm.

As you know, many posters on ot-politics are posting material supporting, encouraging, and expressing sympathy for islamic and palestinian terrorism.

I will be happy to provide you with my research on relevant legislation in the US (e.g. Sedition Act, Patriot Act) and the EU (e.g. pending legislation criminalizing expressions of support and sympathy for terrorism).

Together, I am sure we can adequately police and sanitize these threads of any objectionable content.

And let me be among the first to thank you and congratulate you for your efforts in this regard.

I bet you'd love that. Seriously, MMMMMM's done a helluva job, and I think 2+2 would have a very hard time finding a mod who could be more impartial in his moderating activities.

"encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense"

Does this mean I'm not allowed to tell people they should smoke P.O.T.?

The Iraqi led coalition troops have managed to root out the last pockets of the insurgency from Washington, freeing the American people from the Bush regime. The casualties have been many. Six million innocent civilians have been killed in major cities throughout the United States, President Saddam yet again stated that a majority of these people had been killed by stray bullets from the insurgents.

Reporters were told today that all the major players in the US administration were now captured although some minor figures had escaped, possibly into the mountains where there is an extensive cave network. Bush and his cohorts are expected to be publicly executed, some appealed to Saddam personally for forgiveness, to which Saddam replied, ‘I wonder if I would get a fair trial if we had lost the war’. This reporter doesn’t think so.

Of course all this could have been avoided if the Americans had given up their weapons of mass destruction, but despite numerous appeals they refused to co-operate. The first action of the new American administration will be to repeal all the recent new laws curtailing the freedoms, which were snatched away by the evil Bush regime. The new American president has said ‘America was built on freedom, we want it back, getting rid of this sickening legislation is the first move we need to make to get back that freedom’. This reporter certainly agrees with those sentiments.

Tongue in cheek, but you get the message, whoever loses get executed for war crimes, its not always the nice people who win either.

Regards Mack

Default H.U.A.C. fan

Your views are dangerous and quite simply un-American.

Feel free to reject this characterization any way you see appropriate.
