Re: Another diet soda thread!!!

Are we 100% certain that Splenda doesn't kill us yet? How long has it been around? [/ QUOTE ] We are not 100% certin, but it is healthier for you than Aspertene by a mile, and slightly healthier for you (asuming you don't digest too much because Sucralose overdose in the form of sugar alcohols can cause softening of the stool) than Sweet & Low. PS: They have now proven that Sweet & Low does not cause cancer in lab mice. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: Another diet soda thread!!!
[ QUOTE ] It was first approved for use in Canada (where it has sometimes been marketed as Splendar) in 1991. Subsequent approvals came in Australia in 1993, in New Zealand in 1996, in the United States in 1998, and in the European Union in 2004. As of 2005, it has been approved in over 40 countries, including Brazil, China, and Japan. [/ QUOTE ] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucralose |

[/ QUOTE ] YESSSSSSSSSSS. This stuff also rules. Definitely a superior party fuel than red bull. Tastes like liquid nerds. |

This stuff is awesome. It actually tastes good as a diet soda and not just acceptable. [/ QUOTE ] Is this stuff served in 2 liter goodness? I would back up the truck in fear I may never see it again and stockpile the stuff. |

Is this stuff served in 2 liter goodness? I would back up the truck in fear I may never see it again and stockpile the stuff. [/ QUOTE ]Yeah, last night my local Kroger had 2L for $0.50 each. I bought the 4 they had left. When this stuff isn't on sale, I actually buy "Diet Citrus Drop". It's the Kroger brand, and it's cheaper than their bottled water (which is a little disturbing). It tastes just like Diet Mountain Dew. I couldn't find a picture, but on the side of the bottle, instead of "Do the dew" it says "Pop the drop." It's awesome. -Sam |

It tastes almost identical to regular Dr. Pepper, but the slight difference in taste makes it a little better, IMO. The diet stuff is a little smoother than the regular stuff. Usually diet drinks have a chemically aftertaste, Diet Dr. Pepper doesn't have this at all. |

I regularly buy the cola, dr. pepper clone, and the pink lemonade. Can't beat it at 1.50-2.00 per 12-pack. |
