I would check here for a couple reasons. I don't think a bet is going to get much action here unless you are beat. I really don't like building pots out of position with a marginal hand like this. I also like checking here because I can keep the pot small and still get paid off by a second best hand on the turn or the river. Someone with a medium pocket pair or a hand like KQ that pairs up on the turn or river will bet into you on later streets. I'm not sure if this is the reason that the OP checked this hand, but I would have done the same thing for these reasons.
