Default Shrinking a Pic for an Avatar

Hi Good Peopullz,

Can anyone point me in the right direction or explain how to shrink a Pic (in laymans terms PLEASE) so it will fit to this 80 by 80 pixel size? Lol, Id love 2 catch the dude that limited us to 80 by 80's and I understand why they should be small but couldnt they just make it so the pix automatically shrink to size with all the brains these geniuses have? Before you get "rude" remember we can send a man to Mars now, waaaay past the Moon Ok?

1. Download the Gimp.
2. Resize the image using Gimp.
3. Have everyone thank you for not having to download a ginormous image used exclusively as a friggin' avatar.
