Two marginal situations late in seperate tournies
First Hand: This one has been bugging me for a while now. Final table in the Stars 11 rebuy last friday night. We are four handed and I am the current chip leader with around 1.7 million in chips in the BB. Payouts are as follows: First 10k, second 6k, third 4k, fourth 3k. SB has around 1.3 million, Button has 1.2million and the other guy (villian) has 1 million. Blinds are 30,000/60,000.
A little background. Villian has been playing the shortstack well, pushing when others have raised, and making them fold. He has used this strategy to build his stack from around 600,000 to his current position. I am probably viewed as tight and agressive, and also catching some cards. I have personaly knocked out 3 players on this final table. Villian has pushed on me twice and I have laid down some marginal holdins (A7o and K6s). As for the hand in question. Villian minraises to 120,000 (minraise is nothing abnormal). SB calls and I call with 44 in the BB. Flop is Q 6 6 rainbow. Checked to villian who pushes. I call. ( I was 100% sure he didn't have a Q or 6, and about 60% sure he wouldn't have done this with a higher pocket pair). Am I risking to much in this situation? (losing makes me the shortstack with 700,000). Hand 2: Not as complicated as hand #1, more a general late tourney question. 30 dollar tourney on party, down to 50 or so, all in the money. My stack is around 11,000 and I am in the BB. My stack is a little below average. Blinds are 750/1500. Its folded around to the SB (15,000) who raises to 4500. I have 55 and push. Good or bad? What hands would SB lay down in this situation? I didn't like any of my options for this hand (push, call or fold) |
