Anybody know anything about Antonius? He at least appears to be playing better than most.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think he plays using the nick I_knockout_U.

Bengt Sonnert also is a high stakes online player using the nick pkrbt.

Title: New Chip Leader -- Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken Doubles Through Patrik Antonius
Log: Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken raises preflop, Patrik Antonius reraises, and Dicken calls. The flop comes Js-7d-5d, Dicken bets out, and after a long period of thought, Antonius moves all in. Dicken immediately calls with 7c-5h (two pair). Antonius shows Kd-Jd (pair of jacks, flush draw), and he has a ton of outs to win this hand. The turn card is the 9h, and the river is the As. Antonius fails to improve, and Darrell Dicken doubles up in the biggest pot of the tournament to about $885,000 in chips.

Antonius took a huge hit on that hand, but he still has an above-average stack of about $412,000 in chips. But Darrell Dicken is the new chip leader!

standard move?

you raise, villian reraises, you call. you flop 2 pair. why bet out? it's most likely he's going to do a continuation bet.

why not check raise instead of betting out?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lotta reasons.

First and foremost, many consider a bet out a defensive play and raise with nada in position and control.

dominating, championship quality poker players survive and thrive on cunning and deceit (and those are some of the better qualities). i don't call the tales of brunson, cloutier et al, the adventures of beautiful people. no one expects winning players to be anything more than the hustlers they are.............b
