fwiw, i probably play better tourney poker than he does [/ QUOTE ] Somehow I doubt this. Prove me wrong though. [ QUOTE ] in my opinion, anyone who shows up late for a tournament and willingly gives up ev is not being smart [/ QUOTE ] Not being smart and being a retard are quite different. Oh, and since he makes such horrible -ev decisions that you would never make than you should be able to destroy him HU, whether it's LHE, PLHE, or NLHE or any other variation of poker. |

Re: Why it sucks to stroll in late sometimes
Probably because they don't want to deal with the huge hassle of finding seats, pushing through crowds, etc. It's not like they're losing half their stack. 36 minutes? What is that 2 orbits?

Re: Why it sucks to stroll in late sometimes
Some people have a hard time waking up before 1 pm (me). Considering the many hours of play that need to be played on day 1, it might be a better bet for some people to come well rested and skip the first 2-3 orbits as opposed to playing them but being completely exhausted with 4 hours left in the day. |

It didn't seem to hurt him, the fever or showing up late, as he is one of the bigger stacks after day 1a. |

Re: Why it sucks to stroll in late sometimes
I got moved to Layne's table at about 4pm (he looked horrible, btw). At the time, he had about $10K in chips, and was just starting to get aggressive with them. Of the first three hands I was at the table, Layne moved all-in three times (unfortunately, the first one was against me, and I had to lay down what in retrospect was probably the best hand). After the third hand, Layne had more than doubled up to around $27K and announced, "I'm going to sleep now" and left the table.
Didn't see him again until after the dinner break... -Aces |
