Default Foxwoods WPF $500+65 structure, much gooter than NEPC.

If I remember correctly, wasn't the NEPC T1000 starting stacks and 25-50 antes? Or was it T1500 with 25-50? All I know is that it was 25-50 and it sucked. It was worse than a Party freeroll. The 25-25 starting blinds and 50 minute levels might be enough for me to plunk down half of my returned security deposit in November... Anyone else planning on attending? The only thing that sucks is that they planned it for a Wednesday. WHY??? Most of the people who would compete in this event have day jobs. Instead they have the 7-stud tourneys on Satuday and Sunday...

If the growth trend continues they can't support a field that might show up for a Sunday $500 event. Last years field was 853, I think they don't want to deal with a 1000+ field for this event. Moving it to a wednesday will limit the field. Conversely the smaller stud fields will be bolstered by putting them on the weekends.

That's some well thought out reasoning.

What in the hell makes you think that Foxwoods is capable of that kind of thinking?

For everything they do wrong in the poker room. Mike and company do a good job with the WPF. It's not all for the players benefit but hey, they get large field tourneys off close to on time, the floor rulings are typically pretty good, the structures are decent (they realized they either needed to make the structures much faster or go to 2nd day final tables, they chose wisely) and have you seen how many freakin sattelites they get off? Last year at the WPF'f they were averaging over 200 single tables a day plus an ACT3 and a super in addition to that days event. Not bad for what is basically a core tournament staff of four.

A $500 hold em event on a saturday would be an absolute madhouse.

First off, I will be there with bells on - welll, headphones anyway.

I'm not sure what the NEPC is so I can't compare the structure. I know the only other $500 tourney I've entered was the East Cst. Poker Championsips at Turning Stone two weeks ago. That was 25/50 with 30 min levels, T 2,500 to start.

I will be there for the satellites this weekend, but after reading what you guys posted i might not play in the events. Played in USPC at the Taj and their Limit $325 tourney gave you $5K in chips and 45 minute levels.
