Default A blown ankle, a temporarely dashed dream

3 weeks to the night (last night) from my Black Belt test in karate I blew out the tendions in my left ankle. 4-6 weeks re-coup time. Next test is 6 months away. I was doing 2 a day workouts, lifting weights, and even dropped 22 pounds, now all of that is in the $hitter until next April.

So tonight I'm breaking my diet, slamming back the single barrel bourbons, dropping down to .50/1 6-max and LAGGING it up to forget my troubles.

That's not variance - it's just bad luck...
Last year I was two months from from my shodan test and my teacher quits the style to start her own school. I throw myself into my newly opened business (retail, not poker), go bankrupt and don't see the inside of a dojo for the better part of a year. I'm finally back to regular training and hope to test early next year.

You will heal, get past this and make your grade. Enjoy blowing off steam, but think about it - maybe you need to slow down. I know I did.
Good Luck...

Heh, if you want the $$$, you'll have to find me. 3-tabling right now so it shouldn't be too difficult. Not too drunk yet, still playing TA. But lagging a bit here and there for now.
The screen name is a no-brainer.

Ugh. I'd forgotten how slow .50/1 was and how weak/tight they play.
