[ QUOTE ]
Worst I've seen was in a STT at UB. Thankfully I had folded so wasn't directly involved in the hand. (Sorry for mentioning an online event in the Home forum.)

blinds are 100/200
MP has 800 chips left and limps in with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB has 4000 chips with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
MP has a straight flush and goes all in.
BB calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BB makes his higher straight flush.

River: irrelevant

That's the worst I've seen. Busted aces, trips, and full-houses and even quads can't be as agonizing as that.

[/ QUOTE ]

That is the worst beat I've ever heard of, lol.
That beat could cost you everything you have.

"I laugh at him because he has no pair and no draw. The river shows a 3 of diamonds, giving him a closed straight and flush draw. I'm still about 75% to win so I'm not nervous. The river shows a 5 of clubs, giving him the A-5 straight. I was speechless and still am 3 hours later"

You must have gotten these hands/flop horribly wrong, or you were smokin' SOMETHING. Look at the flop again, Mr Sees No Flop Draw

"I'm thinking of hanging up my poker for good now, thats how damaging this was"
That might be a good idea

You don't hear the term "sucker straight flush" too often.

Seriosuly dude, talk when a guy hits his 4% outer or something like that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Naaaaah, not even a 4%. That's a two outer on the river -- yawn. Hey, I got beat what I think is about a 50,000-1 shot (two consecutive hands in a MTT) and decided no one really cares.

More to the point -- we're missing a lot of facts here, which could change the analysis, but .... If I'm short-stacked and want to make my stand, I usually want something a bit better than A-9o.

LOL -- I did that to someone just yesteday in a SNG, except I had trip 8s against a straight. It was sweet!!!

However, that kind of beat when it's against me is less upsetting what the OP wrote about. If your opp goes all in with trip 5s, you can't really fault him, you'd have done the same thing, so if you lose you lose. It's when the Poker Gods reward a really stupid play that's frustrating.

Did you notice that with Q4 and an A25 flop...he had hit his straight on the turn, and not the river?

If that's the worst beat you've ever seen you haven't played much hold'em, and you are in for a nasty surprise.
