Default Will 1280 X 1024 enable me to 4 table with overlap 19 inch flat panel?

I have read a lot and everyone says you need 1200 x 1600 but does anyone 4 table on 1280 x 1024 I don't mind a little overlap? Thanks.

I couldn't even do it for extended periods on my IBM laptop which is 1400x1050. Worse at your resolution where you'll get massive overlap with windows popping up all the time. A single window takes up approximately 40% of the screen (800x600)/(1280x1024). 1600x1200 is the only way to go if you plan to do significant hours.

The size of the monitor doesn't matter. You'd have a similar experience four-tabling on a 72 inch plasma screen display at 1280x1024.

That said, I four-table with a 1280x1024 resolution. The overlap kills any chance of getting simultaneous reads but if I sit in the same chair in each game I can at least see what my cards are on each table.

I just upgraded to a 20" from a 17" to get to 1600x1200 instead of 1280x1024. It's the best money I've ever spent. I did some 4 tabling before, but the overlap was significant and I wouldn't recommend using it to 4 table consistently.

Get a 1600 x 1200 screen- it makes a big difference. If $$ is an issue you can get a 1600 x 1200 CRT for $150 or so.

I do it.

I have actually come to like it and after a breif stint quad tabling Prima miniview tables, I found that it was strange for me to play with no overlap! With the overlap on a 1280x1024, the tables needing a decision pop to the surface and continually remind you that an action needs to be taken. In this way, I can just sit back and wait for the decisions to come to me.

Now that doesn't mean I want to do this forever. I'd love to try quad tabling on a 1200x1600, but things are working fine right now and it can definitely be done. There was a great screenshot in the internet forum months ago that showed a guys 1280x1024 eight table setup.

Regards

This brings up one of the major advantages I see in using 1600x1200. You can make many of your decisions before they come to you. It's just more efficient, and allows you to pay attention to all games.

I just got a new computer from Dell that came with a free 1280 X 1024 LCD. I thought it would be cool to have a dual monitor setup, so I sprang for an extra $260 to get a 2nd, identical, LCD so I could 4-table (and look cool). They put my 17" CRT monitor on my old computer to shame, so I went and bought a 19" 1600 X 1200 CRT at Best Buy for $200. Other than being huge, my new CRT is much better for multitabling, and really, everything. Right now, I play on the CRT and watch TV/surf 2+2 on the LCDs. I wish I had not bought the extra LCD and got 3 three CRTs (and a bigger desk) instead.

i quad table on 1280x1024 17" LCD.

is no overlap that much better?!

what are the advantages, besides no more popup windows to tell you which game needs a decision within 20 seconds?

Also, how much more % ITM and ROI have you gained by going 1600x1280, if any?

Yes, no overlap is better (IMO). You can play 4 tournaments at the same time, rather than playing 4 tournaments one decision at a time. Does that make sense? It is easier to see all of the action with no overlap. As far at ROI and ITM, both will most likely go down (some will say it goes up because they are more likely to fold), but your hourly rate will go up.
