Paul Phillips, question about controlling your dreams.
I read that sometimes you can control your dreams. I am able to do this a few times a month too. I was wondering if there was any specific term for this? Is it something you can do at will, or only once in awhile?
It's a very interesting subject to me and I would like to learn more about it. |

Re: Paul Phillips, question about controlling your dreams.
It's called a 'lucid dream' and there is a lot of information on the topic.

Re: Paul Phillips, question about controlling your dreams.
I've managed it a dozen or so times, it's well worth it, but completely addicting and makes reality very very disappointing!

Re: Paul Phillips, question about controlling your dreams.
Thanks for that site. I've had quite a few of these in my life. I'd like to fine tune this skill. Sounds like fun.

Re: Paul Phillips, question about controlling your dreams.
One way to know if you have achieved the lucid state is seeing things as you normally would-through your eyes. If you "see yourself" such as you from the back moving then you are watching a regular dream like a movie.
The only thing you would normally see in a lucid dream would be your hands and arms. |

The problem I have in my lucid dreams is that I am always trying to jump off of stuff and/or make out with whatever girls are around. Seriously. If I've realized I have control of my dream I am immediately looking for something to jump off of or someone to make out with. Is it just me? |

I usually start by flying (which verifies that I'm dreaming) and then I go looking for women. (Yes, WOMEN.) Makes me feel like some kind of vampire predator, but in my dreams at least all the women want me. I have about a million other things I'd like to try out but since I can't trigger lucidity with any consistency I fall into old habits. I own a nova dreamer which is supposed to help a lot with lucid dreaming but I haven't had any results with it because I have trouble going to sleep with anything strapped to my head. Perhaps I'll give it another go. |

[/ QUOTE ] whenever i have my "lucid" dreams I can usually hover or fly. By the time I figure this out I start to act like superman and go out looking for kristin kreuk. When I get even that far in my dream I usually wake up or Kristin wants none of me and proceeds to beat me up. Well at least the flying/hovering part is cool. |
