Re: Kind of players you want at your table.
Weak tight/passive players for sure.

Re: Kind of players you want at your table.
Weak tighties - especially if near the money or at the FT.

first few levels, loose-passive calling stations
as blinds get bigger, weak-tighties that let me know if they have a hand |

Which is best? [/ QUOTE ] In addition to some of the other good replies below: - Player who don't adapt to changing conditions. For example, two players get busted from a full table and it is now 8 handed instead of 10. If you're not making instantaneous adjustments for the smaller table, then you're giving up something to the other players. - Players who don't play well short handed. In two of my MTT wins, I've started the FT in 10th out of 10. I won not so much because I got better cards or might be a better player overall, but rather because I adjusted better when the table got more and more short handed. - Once in to the money, players who don't adjust when the blinds get really big. For example, a player might be in 5th place at the FT with 30K chips, and feel he or she is in a good spot. But the player doesn't adjust for the blinds/antes being 1K/2K/100 and realize that they are close to being short stacked. |

Players that are average but play one level beneath you in thinking. [/ QUOTE ] I've been thinking about this one all night. Would you really rather have this, or players who are thinking one level above you? If a player is thinking one level below you, then perhaps some moves are possible because the player isn't sophisticated enough to think them through. On the other hand, the same move might work on a player who you think plays at a higher level. I guess it depends on the situation. IN general I guess you might want the less sophisticated player, but there are times when it may be better to face the more sophisticated player. |
