a husky or a sthil are the only ones that hold up and start when you pull the cord. i have had my sthil 028 wood boss for twenty years now and no problems.
years before i would burn up that mcullough or whatever crap in a few months.
learn what you are doing first or plan on limping along for the rest of your life. they aint no toys.

zee couldnt be more spot on. forget anything other than husqvarna or stihl. poulan, homelite, and anything else u see being sold at Home Depot or Wal Mart are total crap. Personally, i prefer the Husqvarna b/c the seem a little stouter than the stihl. either is a fine choice. oh yea, i know husq makes some weak 18inch weird like kmart series....u will know b/c it is the cheapest one. do not get this peice of junk. i burnt two motors up in that baby b/f i talked the powers that be into the 88cc behemoth with a compression release to crank it. i now pwn all tress and small vehicles with that baby!!

Rent a good one. I would not trust a $200 chainsaw. This isn't a hammer we're talking about here. It's a [censored] chainsaw.
